Our History

 

The Life Insurance Association of Massachusetts was established in 1974. 

For nearly 48 years, LIAM has helped life insurers navigate their way in the Bay State.  Insurers doing business in Massachusetts have long face a complicated mix of laws, regulations and unprecedented new legislative proposals.  Through it all, LIAM has been a powerful collective voice forthe industry and a respected and effective advocate for its members.

We focus on both legislative and regulatory barriers and opportunities that are key to our members' success.
